Registered under the Societies Act of 1860, the TAI is a not-for-profit organisation managed by the apex body called the Governing Council (GC) which is elected by it's affiliated Units in proportion to their membership strength.

Global Textile Changing Scenario in Current Times” as part of Celebration of 80th Anniversary of The Textile Association (India).We have the pleasure to let you know that the TA(I) is the largest body of Textile Professionals not only in the country, but also in the world. The conference will be hosted by Ahmedabad Unit which is also the second largest Unit, with more than 3000 members. The Ahmedabad Unit has recently restructured Dinesh Hall. The conference consists of inauguration, sessions for speakers and panel discussions. Eminent personalities from Industry, Academia, R & D institutions, Government Departments, Policy Makers are expected to attend the conference.

The Conference aims to provide a positive opportunity, where textile fraternity can benefit in enhancing their cumulative strength. Also it is aimed to create a very positive global environment for all stake holders. It is expected that the program will lead further to networking and business relationship among participants from various countries.

  • Organizing lectures, seminars, workshops and conferences to disseminate useful information on topics of current interest to different segments of the industry.
  • Publication of a journal devoted to new work in applied industrial research in all areas of textile, for members and subscribers.
  • Publication of low cost booklets and books of practical value to the practicing professionals - technologists and managers - in the Indian textile industry.
  • Award of Fellowship (FTA) or Associate-ship (ATA) to recognize the capability and the contribution of members; and also the award of Graduate Membership. (GMTA)
  • National level recognition of two individuals each year by awarding one Honorary Membership and one Honorary Fellowship.
  • Recommendation of policy alternatives to the Government of India and to the industry at appropriate times.
  • Organisation of socio - cultural activities all local level events in each Unit of the association.
